Dear Dee and other spina bifida occulta people with odd symptoms :
I have SBO and was okay until I had an injury to my pelvis. Then had all kinds of bladder/bowel difficulties ( ie severe lack of motility). I have now been diagnosed with a tethered spinal cord - and this problem can account for many symptoms. I was born with this, but it took an injury to set off symptoms. It has been assumed that SBO inheritance is a benign and incidental one. BUT I am beginning to think that there are a fair number of us with possible problems inside the spinal canal which are causing weird symptoms that no one is identifying as being related to the SBO/tethered cord, or other nerve/spinal cord anomalies. My diagnosis is "fibromyalgia" as well.
Please email me, let's talk
