am a nurse who had problems with my back i was medically retired in1999 as an xray showed loss of disc space height at L4L5 a recent MRI should the same problem at T12 and degeneration of first 4 cervical vertebrae I have been receiving epidural injections at a pain clinic and at my last attendance on30th March 05 during the proceedure the consultant asked if i had ever been told i had spina bifida occulta when i said i didnt think so he said are you sure?I am the youngest of 8 children my mother was 40 while pregnant with me she now has dementia so cannot shed any light on the subject my surviving sister who is 50 did remember it being mention in connection with me but nothing else my question is this would this condition not have shown up on the MRI and the consultant said at end of the proceedure that "your lower back is very Tense!! do you think he suspects that i have SPO
